From October 26th to 27th, our IEEE Student Branch at IIT took part in the global 24-hour hackathon, IEEEXtreme 18.0, with over 200 teams and 550+ participants joining forces to test their coding skills in this intensive event. The hackathon was a powerful demonstration of our community’s commitment to excellence, as each team pushed the boundaries of creativity and resilience.

The day was filled with intense coding sessions, problem-solving challenges, and the energy of collaboration as our participants tackled complex tasks from sunrise to sunrise. Among the extraordinary accomplishments, one team proudly claimed 1st place in Sri Lanka, positioning themselves in the prestigious top 100 globally. This outstanding achievement reflects not only the team’s hard work but also the dedication and preparation that our student branch invests in each participant’s journey. Many of our other teams also performed exceptionally, setting new records and establishing a strong international presence.

Our heartfelt thanks go to every participant, proctor, and organizer who contributed to the seamless execution of this memorable event. The hackathon was more than just a competition—it was a remarkable journey of learning, building connections, and creating a strong community of passionate tech enthusiasts.
