Commit.dev V2 marked the second edition of the flagship technical meetup series organized by the IEEE Computer Society Student Branch Chapter of the Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT) in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Held at the IIT School of Computing campus, this edition centered entirely on the theme "Flutter: Watch Party," exploring breakthroughs unveiled at Google I/O and diving into modern cross-platform app development practices.

The event was organized in collaboration with Flutter Colombo, a prominent hub for Flutter developers in Sri Lanka, who came on board as the knowledge partner for the session. This partnership brought together the local Flutter developer community for an afternoon centered on hands-on learning and technical discussion.

A key highlight of Commit.dev V2 was its lineup of featured speakers, who led the conversation on Flutter development. Mr. Avinath Gunasekara, Founder of fluttergenius.com and Community Lead at Flutter Colombo, shared insights drawn from his deep involvement in the Flutter ecosystem. He was joined by Mr. Chathura Dilan, Founder and CEO of Axonator.io, who brought an industry perspective on building and scaling cross-platform applications.

Commit.dev V2 continued IEEE CS IIT's tradition of bringing together students and industry professionals for focused, technology-specific conversations. By zeroing in on a single theme and pairing it with experienced speakers from the local developer community, the event gave attendees a concentrated look at where Flutter and cross-platform development are headed, reinforcing the chapter's role as a bridge between academic learning and real-world industry practice.
