CodeSprint X

CodeSprint X was the flagship inter-university startup challenge organized by the IEEE Student Branch of the Informatics Institute of Technology. Billed as Sri Lanka's first-ever inter-university startup reality show, the competition spanned a four-month journey of innovation and technopreneurship. It guided student teams through multiple stages, including the Ideate, Prototype, and StartUp phases, allowing them to refine their tech-driven business ideas from initial concepts into viable products.

Throughout the competition, organizers hosted several workshops to help participants build their entrepreneurial skills. An Ideate Phase panel discussion took place in April 2025, featuring industry experts who shared insights on validating startup ideas and using emerging technologies. Later, in June 2025, a Technical Presentation Workshop was conducted to help teams master their pitching strategies and engage audiences effectively before the high-pressure final rounds.

The journey concluded with the Grand Finale on July 26, 2025. During this event, the top teams pitched their ventures to a live audience and a panel of industry leaders, mirroring a real-world startup accelerator environment. Ultimately, Team ITSELF from the University of Kelaniya emerged as the overall champions. They were followed by Team VisuaLit and Team Amor Developers, both from IIT, who secured the first and second runner-up positions respectively. The event was a massive success, supported by various IEEE chapters and multiple industry partners.
