ConnectX

The ConnectX Industry Visit Series, organized by the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (CIS) Student Branch Chapter at the Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT), serves as a bridge connecting undergraduate students with Sri Lanka's top technology firms. The initiative aims to move beyond traditional classroom learning by immersing students directly into the corporate tech ecosystem. Through scheduled on-site visits, participants gain first-hand exposure to the daily operations, engineering workflows, and specialized projects of industry leaders, preparing them for future careers in tech.

During these visits, students engage in deep-dive technical sessions and architecture walkthroughs led by senior software engineers, data scientists, and corporate leaders. The curriculum typically centers on modern, disruptive technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Big Data analytics, mobile application infrastructure, and cloud automation. These interactive technical sessions allow students to see how complex theoretical algorithms are deployed at scale to solve real-world business challenges.

Beyond technical learning, ConnectX acts as a powerful networking platform. Students receive unique opportunities to interact directly with industry executives, talent acquisition teams, and engineering mentors. These interactions provide critical guidance on market trends, required technical skill sets, and internship opportunities, helping students align their academic focus with the evolving demands of the global tech industry.
