Cyberquest

CyberQuest was a comprehensive cybersecurity initiative and competition hosted at the Informatics Institute of Technology in February 2026. Designed to foster cybersecurity awareness and enhance practical hacking skills, the event challenged university students through competitive phases and educational workshops. The initiative kicked off on February 7 with an online Capture The Flag (CTF) challenge via the Official Legion CTF Platform. Drawing massive national interest, the fast-paced, one-hour round attracted over 270 participants across more than 85 teams from over 15 universities, ultimately narrowing the field down to the top 25 teams.

Following the initial round, an exclusive physical workshop was held at the IIT campus on February 11 in collaboration with Dijital Team. Led by Mr. Jude Myuran, the Head of Technical Skill Development at Dijital Team, the session bridged theory and practice. Students learned about modern cyber threats, hands-on hacking techniques, password vulnerabilities, and the growing role of AI in cybersecurity. The workshop also provided attendees with a clear roadmap for building a successful career in the cybersecurity field.

The initiative culminated on February 22 with an intense six-hour CTF Grand Finale. The top 25 qualifying teams gathered physically at IIT to solve complex, real-world cybersecurity problems in a high-pressure environment. The marathon event tested their technical expertise, teamwork, and time management, concluding with an award ceremony that recognized and rewarded the highest-performing teams for their technical excellence.
