IndustPro 5.0

IndustPro 5.0 is a professional development initiative designed to enhance undergraduate students' career readiness and skills, following the tradition of previous iterations organized by the IEEE Computer Society Student Branch Chapter of the Informatics Institute of Technology. Held throughout March 2026, the series focused on bridging the gap between theoretical academic knowledge and practical industry expectations.

The initiative featured an Exclusive Panel Discussion on March 15, 2026, which brought together professionals from diverse technology domains to equip students with practical insights into corporate environments. Moderated by Ms. Sanali Kaushalya, the panel included industry experts such as Buddhi Kavindra Ranasinghe from Cloud Solutions International, Hasith Senevirathne from IFS, Eksara Jayan from Virtusa, and Mino Gallawatta from Atmoz. They shared their professional journeys, highlighted key skills and challenges in their respective fields, and discussed strategies for personal branding and securing competitive internships.

On March 27, 2026, the series continued with its first workshop, titled "Beyond the Code: Sysco LABS AI Blueprint". This interactive physical session was conducted by senior professionals from Sysco LABS, including Vice President of Engineering Mr. Rohana Kumara and Senior Software Engineer Mr. Lasal Hettiarachchi. The workshop explored how artificial intelligence is transforming modern workplaces and engaged participants in practical activities designed to simulate industry-level challenges. This hands-on approach allowed students to experience professional problem-solving methods and develop essential soft skills like critical thinking, teamwork, and decision-making for their future careers.
